Why you should watch the best new anime this season

It’s the middle of winter, which means it’s almost time for spring! This also means it’s almost time for new anime to debut! There are some great ones coming out this season and I want to help you pick out which ones are the best and most worth your time. So let’s get started with my guide on why you should watch the best new anime this season!

The Top 10 Best New Anime of 2019
It’s that time of year again—time to take a look at all of your options for new and returning anime shows and see which ones are worth watching. We’ve made our picks for 2019’s best new anime on Netflix, Crunchyroll, Funimation, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video. Keep in mind that we haven’t seen every series released yet, so there may be other great ones we missed—but as long as it was released sometime between January 1st and December 31st, 2019, it made our list. Even better? Most of these will run for about 25-30 episodes (so you can knock them out quickly), but some are only 10 or 12 episodes long.

TAKKO
You might be wondering why I’m writing a post about winter 2019’s greatest hits. Most people aren’t interested in catching up on older shows, but luckily for you, that isn’t what we do here at Kakurega. We love our seasonal content and just because there are too many amazing shows to cover them all in one go doesn’t mean we won’t ever cover them! I won’t keep you waiting any longer – here are some titles worth checking out if you want to get caught up before they start airing. Be sure to check back with us next month as well; what better way is there to pass February than by getting completely lost in an interesting and engaging story?

ANNA AND THE APOCALYPSE
Anna is your typical rebellious teenager who hates her life. She’s stuck in a small town, and she has to hide her musical aspirations from her strict father. When she suddenly becomes sick, she’s treated with disbelief by her doctor, who thinks it’s psychosomatic. But when Anna wakes up six months later, things begin to change; after an apocalypse befalls Earth, there are only a few people left to take over…and one of them is Anna! This zombie comedy-drama tackles a variety of themes: loss, family ties, and growing up. It won’t be winning any awards for its animation—in fact, most of it was created digitally on green screens—but it will keep you coming back for more every week.

FOOD WARS! THE SECOND PLATE
This year’s crop of new anime kicks off on Sunday, April 5th with Food Wars!, which returns for a second season. The first is one of my favorite shows from last year and I’m looking forward to revisiting Shokugeki no Soma and company. Billed as a comedy-drama based around food competitions, it’s actually more like Naruto with knives (or DBZ if we’re talking about superpowers), which makes for fun viewing. Plus there are some great characters, including everyone’s favorite sous chef Erina Nakiri and her successor Ryo Kurokiba. An adaptation of a manga series by Yūto Tsukuda, both seasons are available streaming on Crunchyroll at launch.

NEW GAME! SEASON 3
The third season of NEW GAME! just dropped. อนิเมะใหม่ right, ladies and gentlemen; we are officially halfway through all of the NEW GAME! And if that doesn’t make your heart pitter-patter with excitement, then I don’t know what will. From cute girls to fresh faces, NEW GAME!! has really covered all angles when it comes to not only having characters that are easy on the eyes but also great for bouncing ideas off of for whatever their situation may be
