Many people have lost their lives and many more have been injured in what appears to be revenge attacks. Kashmir is basically a place where Kashmiris live and work peacefully although there have been times when troublemakers have caused disturbance. They have also prevented commerce from flowing through as the entire valley has been cordoned off by the security forces.
Since the whole nation has been affected by this turmoil the authorities have called for all celebrations to stop and devote time to the victims and their families. President Obama cancelled his trip to India and the prime Minister Manmohan Singh called for an emergency meeting of the Indian parliament. The chief minister of Kashmir has also asked the people to stop attending the funeral of their loved ones who have been killed in the recent political killings in Kashmir. Sheik Sakar has also asked the people to respect the sentiments of the people and maintain peace.
The chief Abdul has also announced that his government would set up rehabilitation centers for those people who have lost their lives in the clashes. He has named theCTS-level officials who will head the rehabilitation centers in Srinagar. Altogether at least six people were killed in the clashes in Srinagar.
