Islamic Clothing and Culture in the Great Lakes

There are many Islamic lifestyle rules that women living in the Islamic world should follow. These rules include modesty, prayer and behavior of women. In the Islamic world, it is strictly forbidden to be a thief, or for a woman to get married before attaining puberty, or to live with a single man. This is because it is considered to be immorality and a break from the Islamic religion. In addition, there are many Islamic rules on women and they are not easy to understand.

The most difficult Islamic lifestyle rules to comprehend are those regarding the lives of women. For example, it is prohibited for a Muslim woman to live with her husband or a close male relative, or with anyone who belongs to the same tribe as her husband. Women who have a blood relationship with non-Muslims, or those who are closely related by marriage must also stay away from these people. However, for other Islamic principles it is quite simple.

Some of the more difficult Islamic lifestyle rules that must be understood by all women living in the Islamic world are related to the rules about honor. In fact, it is a part of the Islamic religion that non-Muslims, especially Christians, are not allowed to enter into Muslim territory without the permission of the religious leader. Therefore, for example, if a woman is traveling with her husband or a close relative, she is not allowed to be with a non-believer. Also, for an honor killing to take place, the husband or close relative must give the order beforehand to their victim.

Another Islamic rule regarding women is related to clothing. For example, the Islamic law states that a Muslim woman over twenty years old may not wear pants or jeans in front of other non-Muslims. This is because the Islamic radicals believe that jeans and pants are “prostitution.” While it is not always practiced, it is not allowed in any Muslim country. However, in certain countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, the Islamic radicals have made the violation of this rule a capital offense, which means that a person can be executed for it.

One of the worst examples of clothing that the Islamic terrorists do not want their followers to wear is the long, loose garments worn by many Tuareg women. In fact, a tuareg is not allowed to wear any clothes in public except for the traditional long gown known as the masjid. However, there are a few countries where this strict rule is waived by the government. In Nigeria for instance, women are only allowed to wear long, loose garments that cover them completely. There are no other requirements for a woman to wear a long Islamic dress such as a jilbab or lehenga. This means that Islamic terrorists in Nigeria can freely choose from a variety of Islamic garments designed to attract attention.

Another form of clothing that is favored by the Islamic radicals in Africa is the kalima. The kalima is a long robe worn by Muslim men that is tied at the waist with a head scarf. It is made of a heavy fabric and comes in many colors; though dark colors are preferred by the radical groups in Africa. Although it is modeled after the shalwar qameez, it does not have the frills of the former and is often described as “asbestos clothing” due to the material it is made out of.

Pirates are not the only enemies of the Islamic lifestyle in Africa. Certain tribes in the region serve as a safe haven for the killers of Christians, Jews, and Muslims. For example, a group of armed groups called the Molotov Cockatoo, or “Cockatoo Pirates”, have been terrorizing the native communities in the Great Lakes region in Nigeria. The Molotov Cockatoo is an Islamic terrorist organization that is believed to be responsible for several attempted cross-border attacks into Israel and the West Bank. The pirates also abducted some Christians from their homes and demanded ransom payments from them.

In spite of these problems, the Islamic community is working hard to keep their cultural traditions alive. For example, an Islamic cultural festival in February called Al-Fitr takes place in Lagos, Nigeria that is similar to Christmas in America. The main highlight of the festival is a parade through the city that is attended by hundreds of followers of the Islamic faith. This annual event is one of the highlights of the Muslim calendar and coincides with the start of the holy fasting month of Ramadan.
